Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury is a trauma induced physiological disruption of brain function. People injured in accidents can sustain traumatic brain injury. Traumatic brain injury is manifested by at least one of the following symptoms: loss of consciousness, loss of memory for events immediately before or after the accident, alteration in mental state at the time of the accident such as feeling dazed, disoriented or confused, amnesia, loss of consciousness, vomiting, dizziness or nausea, irritability, nervousness or fatigue, forgetfulness, loss of appetite and weight loss. Traumatic brain injury can be caused by a direct blow to the head or the brain undergoing movement in the skull without any direct external trauma to the head, for example from the whiplash movement of the head neck resulting from an automobile accident, or falling and striking your head on the ground. Our firm has represented individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injury as a result of many different types of accidents.
