Charitable Involvement
Mr. Corwin is involved in a number of charitable and non profit organizations in the Los Angeles Community. In 2005 he served as the Treasurer of University Synagogue, responsible for management of its annual $3 million budget. Mr. Corwin also served as Co-Chair of the University Synagogue Architectural and Construction Committees in 2004-05, where he was responsible for the design and oversight of a $10 million remodel project. Mr. Corwin was an Eagle Scout, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster and a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Corwin is a lifetime member of the UCLA Alumni Association.
Mr. Corwin's other charitable involvement includes the Disability Rights Education Defense Fund, Heal the Bay, Concern Cancer Foundation, American Cancer Society, Clare Foundation, New Roads High School, Willows Community School, Marquez Charter Elementary School, Westside Gramercy Shelter, Los Angeles Free Clinic, The UCLA Foundation, Cure FD, YMCA, Jewish Family and Children Services, American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.
Mr. Corwin is actively involved with Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services, a 100 year old Los Angeles based non-profit organization that is one of the preeminent social service agencies serving children and their families, with mental health problems, emotional problems, behavior problems, social problems, or developmental difficulties. Scott serves as the Co-Chair for the Vista Del Mar Annual Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament. The Corwin Family has demonstrated its commitment to the Los Angeles non profit community by establishing and funding the Tikun Olam Program of the Miracle Project and Vista Inspired Teens at Vista Del Mar. These programs benefit special needs children and their families.
