Three cars were involved in a horrific California crash that took place in Los Angeles. The fatal car accident, which occurred just after 2 a.m., took the life of a young single mother. Police say that alcohol and drugs may have been involved and that one driver appears to have been speeding.
A man, reportedly in his 20s, was said to have been driving at excessive speeds when he crashed into another car. The driver of the second vehicle hit a third one, which was driven by a young woman in her 20s. That car was slung into a tree with such force that the driver was killed.
Police say the driver of the first vehicle was traveling at speeds up to two or three times more than the posted limit in the area. One man who witnessed the crash was still shaking hours later. The son of the deceased is apparently just 12 years old.
A co-worker of the deceased victim lamented that there is no excuse for the man to have been driving while impaired. In fact, a ride-share program was apparently available in that area. That man believed responsible for the accident was hospitalized in critical condition, and other occupants of his car suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized as well. Police say the man will be booked as soon as he is released from the hospital.
When a fatal car accident such as this one occurs in California, families are left with a devastating loss. While no amount of money can replace a lost loved one, it is possible to seek damages for loss of income, medical bills, pain and suffering, and other financial damages recognized by applicable laws. Consulting with a personal injury lawyer can help a deceased victim’s family understand their rights and how to pursue legal recourse through the civil justice system.
