For many football players and car accident victims suffering from traumatic brain injuries, recovery seemed bleak. For those injured, many are unable to see improvements in their mental health. However, some former football players suffering from traumatic brain injuries have seen drastic improvements in their mental faculties after following programs created at Pure Recovery. A California Clinic Is Showing Positive Progress
CTE, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, is real concern for athletes that have suffered from consistent blows the head. With no way for doctors to test for CTE in the brain of a living patient, victims often have difficulty finding treatment options to manage the symptoms. Jermichael Finley, former Green Bay Packer tight end, had 44% percent brain dysfunction when he entered treatment. After 30 sessions of increasing neuroplasticity and general activity, he measured at 20% dysfunction. Experts in the field see these techniques as the right step in developing treatments for patients with possible CTE or multiple concussions. While the long-term effectiveness has yet to be shown, results are promising for Finley and other concussion patients. “I didn’t think it was something that could be fixed,” explained Finley.
