Police are still attempting to piece together a violent crash that claimed the life of a beauty queen, according to local sources. Highway Patrol troopers were on the scene of a single-vehicle crash that tragically killed a 26-year-old supermodel from Tijuana. So far, police have not released an official cause of the accident, nor have they filed charges against the driver involved. Car accidents of this nature are all too common on California roadways.
According to the accident report, the founder of a major hemp products company was behind the wheel of a Lamborghini sports car around 2 a.m. in the early morning of Nov. 5 when the accident occurred. Police believe he may have been speeding, which caused him to lose control of the high-performance vehicle. The car left the road and smashed into a palm tree, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
The 26-year-old passenger was flung from the wreck and was found near the car suffering from critical injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. She was named Miss Earth Baja California in a 2015 beauty pageant. The condition of the driver is unknown.
Car accidents of this type often require considerable investigation to piece together a comprehensive narrative of exactly what occurred. In this tragedy, California specialists will determine why and how the driver lost control of the vehicle. Even if police choose not to file charges against him, or if he did not survive the crash to be charged, the family of the deceased supermodel is entitled under state law to file a wrongful death suit against him or his estate in civil court.
