Returning from a visit to the hospital last month, Katie Evans was killed in a collision involving an allegedly drunk driver on Golden Valley Road, Santa Clarita. Alexia Cina, age 21, drove across the center median and directly struck Evans late Fiday night, October 6. The 37-year-old mother leaves behind 6 children and husband, Jacob Evans. 2 of the children are prematurely born infants whom Katie was visiting at the hospital. Another driver and passenger collided with both vehicles following the initial head-on collision; both people in the third vehicle sustained injuries.
Drunk driving accidents are some of the most deadly accidents as impaired drivers fail to follow the rules of the road and react properly to changes on the road. Additionally, drunk drivers behave irregularly on the road and therefore more difficult to anticipate. Between 2003 and 2012, over 10,000 people were killed in collisions involving a drunk driver and many more were injured. Wrongful death claims are best brought with an experienced and respected attorney that understands the gravity of your needs following the loss of a loved one.
